Arthur Conan Doyle, which is considered to be the most oustanding writer in the history of western detective literature. He inherited edgar Allan Poe in some fields, and extended the expressive horizon of detective literature to a new height. His series of novels about Sherlock Holmes set the strict scientific thinking,meticulous logical reasoning and rational spirit, which interested modern Chinese intellectuals who committed to national self-reliance greatly. Therefore, a large number of translation about Holmes stories were introduced to the modern readers. The introduction of sherlock Holmes stories affected Chinese tradition novels' narrative mode greatly, changing the modern readers' reading habits and tastes in narrative-view,structure and time, and directly lead to the birth of the Chinese detective novels. As "the first person of Chinese detective literature", Cheng Xiaoqing imitated Conan Doyle in his early creation. Their works are similar in some fields. In this paper, we take the imitation of Cheng Xiaoqing to Conan Doyle as the breakthrough point, using influence research methods,to comb the relation of them systematically , to study the variance after Holmes introduced into China and its influence in Chinese detective literature including Cheng Xiaoqing. Then this paper compares "the Complete Sherlock Holmes"and "the Complete Huo Sang" to analyze the special features of them and the literary and cultural traditions behind them.This paper is divided into introduction,the text and the conclusion of three parts, and the text is composed of three chapters.The first chapter of "the acception of Holmes in China"mainly combs the stories of Holmes in the Holmes's acception in China from 1896 to the found of New China; in addition, we analyze the accepter of the influence-Cheng Xiaoqing's acceptance of Conan Doyle.The second chapter of "text comparison"mainly compares the two stories in ideas,images,plot and reader's horizon of expectation. The author found that there were some differences about them; in the field of idea, Huo Sang stories focused on the ethic of family, while Holmes stories exhibited many fields of society. Based on these, Cheng Xiaoqing and Conan Doyle have respectively a viewpoint of questioning and appreciation on capitalism modernity; in the field of image, Holmes is modeled as a "frostily superman", while Huo Sang is modeled as a "passionate mortal"; in the field of polt, Conan Doyle and Cheng Xiaoqing each use the mode of "bottom-top"and "top-bottom"to communicate messages, leading to semi-poen and open between text and reader; In the field of horizon of expectation, Holmes stories reflect the mind "advocating wisdom"of western reader. Huo Sang stories reflect the mind of Chinese readers' complex of "rectitude bureaucracy".The third chapter of "the function of detective literature-education and entertainment" mainly uses the theory of receptionist to analyze the two writers' attention of detective literture's function.
