In 1960s,national liberation movements was booming,a large number of former colonial and semi-colonial countries have achieved independence,These countries have gradually become the focus of the main battlefield of the Cold War.With china's economic development and international status improvement,the United States believes that China is the major threat to the United States and becomes the main target to the Cold War strategy of the United States.Kennedy Administration's China policy of containment has not changed in 1961. From four important eases can be seen.for example:the Representative to the United Nations,the counterattack against the mainland of Jiangjieshi,China's nuclear weapons development program and the use of the Sino-Soviet split to contain China.Kennedy's China policy is impacted by many complex factors.Under the pressure of international and domestic situations,the Kennedy administration's China policy is not much improvement.The motivation to change the policy toward China is impure.In addition to the introduction and conclusion of this article,this paper includes three parts:The first part,Kennedy administration's China policy faces many difficults;The second part,four important historical issues between the U.S.and China are analysised and studyied in detail.Partâ…¢,Analysis of hindering the United States to change its policy a number of factors.
