Cognitive emotion regulation strategy is defined as an individual's conscious cognitive efforts to achieve the emotion regulation goal.Discussing systematically the structure of soldiers' cognitive emotion regulation strategies and their features can enrich the cognitive emotion theory of military psychology. For soldiers, depression is a common negative emotion.Social-cognitive theory about depression insists that cognitive factors determine the depressive level. Thus, discussing the relation between cognitive emotion regulation strategies and depression can deepen the negative emotion research of military, and furthermore, supply a new therapy for negative emotions such as depression. In this study, soldiers in Henan army were implemented.First, the study revise cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire developed by Garnefski etal.By doing this, the structure of soldiers' cognitive emotion regulation strategies was attained. Then, this cognitive emotion regulation revision was used as a primary research tool, and many statistical methods, such as multifactor analysis of variance, correlation analysis, recession analysis and t-test,were applied to investigate the features of soldiers' cognitive emotion regulation strategies and their relation with depression. As much as this study concerned, findings are as follows:(1)The study revise cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire and examine its reliability and validity.Eventually, six kinds of soldiers' cognitive emotion regulation strategies were attained. The order of using them is in turn, from the most to the least, positive appraisal and adjustment, positive reappraisal, acceptance and self-comfort,self-blame,Rumination,Catastrophizing.(2)Soldiers from country use more self-blame strategy significantly than soldiers from city.(3)There are no significant differences between not-only-children soldiers and only-children soldiers in six cognitive emotion regulation strategies.(4)Soldiers are intend to use more positive appraisal and adjustment, positive reappraisal, with the growth of military age.But it will decrease when military age comes over four years.Soldiers with four years and above military age use less catastrophizing strategy signifi -cantly than soldiers with one year military age.The use frequency of rumination strategy increases with the growth of military age.(5)Soldiers with junior school education degree use less positive reappraisal strategy significantly than soldiers with senior school education degree, use less rumination strategy significantly than soldiers with bachelor degree.Totally speaking, soldiers are inclined to take more strategies with the increase of education degree.(6)Positive appraisal and adjustment correlates passively with depression;Acceptance and self-comfort,catastrophizing,self-blame,rumination correlates positively with depression.(7)Positive appraisal and adjustment can predict positively depression;and acceptance and self-comfort,catastrophizing,rumination can predict negatively it.(8)For soldiers whose depressive symptoms are different, there are significant differences in six strategies.Soldiers with less depressive symptoms use more positive appraisal and adjustment and fewer acceptance and self-comfort,catastrophizing,self-blame and rumination.
