Orhan Pamuk,a Turkey writer highly thought worldwide,is also one of the three most important writers over Europe.He won three main prizes of literature over Europe by the book named My Name is Red.In the year of 2006,the Nobel Prize of Literature has finally effort him by his autobiography Istanbul:the memories of a city.The essay proceeded with cultural identity,analyzed the identity of Pamuk in the pieces of him,and revealed the meaning of culture behind works.In the foreword of the essay,the subject concept of philosophical thought was introduced,so that important elements of theory of identity that construction and rely on the "others" were arrived at.From chapterâ… to chapterâ…¢,discussion of identity problem of Pamuk was construed by the means of text.The first chapter was based on the white castle,analyzed his definition of the relationship between self and other according to Lacan's theory of Mirror phase.The second chapter was based on Black book,analyzed the influence of view of identity of Sufi Mysticism to the same part of Pamuk.The third chapter was based on the Horni Bhabha's theory of hybrid and the third space,analyzed the text My name is red,conclusion Pamuk's inclined to agree with the hybridity.In the last chapter,analyzed the impact of Turkey's unique circumstance to the subject of work created by Pamuk.In the end,a summary of Pamuk's view of identity and its cultral meaning was given.
