D.H.Lawrence is one of the greatest English novelists and also the ecological ethic prophet in the 20^th century.His representative work,Sons and Lovers is full of Ecological Ethics.This novel which has the thick autobiography color,take writer's hometown the village of Bestwood as a prototype.In the background of the Industrial Revolution brings under the large-scale mechanization,the natural ecological environment encounters the heavy damage,and the relationship between the coal miner family members are dissimilation.In Sons and Lovers,Lawrence expressed his worry about British society present situation.To interpret the novel from the Perspective of ecocriticism,we can explore the ecological crisis are doomed to human crisis.As times pioneer,Lawrence proposes to optimize human nature,and construct a "making man to be the human being" ecological ethics system,so as to take the naturalness get the best of the machinery of industrial civilization to his ultimate ideal.Generally speaking,this dissertation follows the literature ethics criticism research technique which Professor Nie Zhenzhao proposed,analyzes Sons and Lovers from the new angle of ecological ethics.Eco-ethics is about the relationship between man and nature,which is determined on the nature of moral obligation and concern.Its essence is the human in front of the nature the humanity establishment and formation.This dissertation take eco-ethics as the foundation explore the relationship between ecology and human nature,human nature and ecological ethics in the Sons and Loves deeply.In particular,the research ideas of this dissertation are as follows:In the first chapter,I give a brief introduction to ecological environment which the every figure form Sons and Lovers live in.In the process of explanation,we draw the destiny of the family of the Morel from three points:firstly,morel and mining countryside;secondly,William and "The City of Fog"--London and thirdly,Paul and Nottinghamshire.What's more,it reveals that along with the industrialization and mechanized degree's gradual enhancement,the plundering of natural resources and pollution of nature are increased,which result in the ecological crisis's eruption finally.In second chapter,I take the eco-crisis's essence which is the human nature crisis as research's base.Its reveal people who are driven by the desire not only loss the humanity gradually,but also become a prisoner of industrial society.From three parts which is hedonism,money worship and totalitarianism,to describe the three man which from Sons and Lovers encountered the temptation of lust,and analysis their human nature are distortion and variation in face of family,marriage and gender relations.However,in Lawrence's opinion,the industry civilization is not only remark nature but also remark human nature.Therefore,the relationship between person and person becomes opposite and sparse,gender ethical relation in particular.In the third chapter,because of the ecological ethics essence is the construction of human nature,the ecological ethics is not only protects the nature,but also wish to bring about humanity recognition and regression.With the analysis of the symbolization of nature and influence of character by the nature,we can recognize the intrinsic value of the nature.While,when we admit nature's value that we should admit nature's right,too. So,we should take the moral responsibility of the nature.Meanwhile,Lawrence tried to reconstruct the human nature from caring for nature,and regarded as the goal which harmonious development of human beings and nature.
