The Research And Practise Of Chia-ying Yeh's Poetry Theory System

Of the Classical Chinese Poetry researchers in the new era, Chia- ying Yeh , is undoubtedly the most attractive experts. In her, we can find the poetic flavor of Classical Chinese Poetry and the poetic wisdom of the Western critical theories. In her works, her simple concise statements present a picture of a comprehensive and precise analysis of Ci. What her works bring is not only the enjoyment of knowledge but also a sense of understanding and inspiration of life experience and toughening.As a famous Canadian women scholar, Chia- ying Yeh has created many works. With the characteristics of large scope of practice and great number of works interpreted, the study relates to ancient Chinese poetry, Ci and poetry theory, including such themes as the treatment of Ci ontology, the issue of creation, the criticismand the interpretation of writers and their works, the modern elucidation of poetry theory, the practice of large-span, a large number of interpretations of the works . starting with Chia- ying Yeh's inheritance and developing of Classical poetry theory, coupled with her typical life background and life experience, the present paper attempts to grasp her Chinese and Western Combination Mode characterized by Chinese learning -based and with reference to the Western one. Therefore, the integration research of Chia- ying Yeh's poetry theory system has a certain value of guidanceof making people understand the poetry theory.The present thesis can be divided into four parts. The introduction summerizes the researches on Chia- ying Yeh's poetry theory. In the first chapter,the unique characteristics of Chia- ying Yeh's poetry theory are probed deeply. The second chapter analyses breakthroughs of Chia- ying Yeh's poetry theory under the influence of Wang Guowei, in particular, the in-depth analysis of"yaomiaoyixiu"and her unique interpretation of Artistic Conception. In the third chapter, Chia- ying Yeh's analysis of aesthetic peculiarities of Ci highlights her outstanding contribution in this field. The last chapter is the conclsion.
