People generally imagine its terrorist means, its secret late-night arrest, and its harsh torture when referring to the Inquisition. But the Spanish Inquisition is far more complex than those phenomena it generated. And the Inquisition in other parts of Europe in the same period is not as strong and attractive as the Inquisition is in the Iberian Peninsula. The biggest difference of the Inquisition between in Spain and in Europe at the same time is that the Spanish Inquisition was mainly aimed at the "Jewish problem" .But the solution of "Jewish problem" became complex for the Jewish-conversos. The Jewish-conversos in Spain has been the primary objective of the Inquisition of Spain, just as the Qatar is the main objective in the blacklist of the Inquisition in Europe in the Middle Ages for a few centuries. In theory the Spanish Inquisition proclaimed that it was intended to remove those pseudo-Christians in order to safeguard the purity of the Catholic Church. But in fact, it is to eliminate the entire Jewish-converso groups from the Spanish society. I attempt to take the Jewish-converso for a breakthrough to analyze the relationship between the Spanish Inquisition and the Jewish-converso from the perspective of anti-Semitism. This essay consists of three parts:The introduction consists of two sections. It briefly reviews the relevant research at home and abroad, and summarizes the results of previous studies on the basis of the chronological order according to the study of the Spanish Inquisition of the academic achievements.Chapter one attempts to study the origin of Spanish Jewish question and the causes of the conversion of Jewish to pave the way for the subsequent establishment of the Inquisition.Chapter II is the main part of this paper. Through the analysis of the relationship between anti-conversion movement and the Inquisition, we can conclude that the anti-conversion movement led to the establishment of the Inquisition. The Jewish-conversos gained great financial and political status in the church and the state through their conversion which had been occupied by Jewish. The Spanish old-Christians couldn't tolerate their achievements. Even these conversos were converted, but they were still thought as Jewish. So the Jewish-converts became another target of the persecution after the Jewish.Chapter III mainly analyses the religious and ethnic persecution of the Jewish-converso. They were accused of secret-Jews and tarnishing the Spanish race, which was reflected in the "pure blood" certificate. And before long it led to the expulsion of the Jews.In the end, the essay makes a conclusion of the relationship between the Spanish Inquisition and the Jewish-converso, and points out that the persecution of Spanish Jewish-converso stems from the deep-rooted anti-Semitism in Spain.
