A Study On The Configuration System Of The ZhongShan State's Characters In The Warring States Period

This thesis is based on configuration theory of Chinese characters.With the help of the computer technology,we apply summarized and integrated comparison methods to the systemization and further study of the ZhongShan State's characters.In the first place,we extract 552 separate characters from the inscriptions on the unearthed artifacts which represented by the Three Artifacts of PingShan and the Bronze Map.Then we carry out detailed classification and description of two prominent phenomena of the characters,which are called diverse ways of writing and diverse structures.Secondly,among the 552 separate characters,we select 544 characters to do the character splitting according to its configuration principles.The configuration element's functions,together with the combination patterns and the combination plies, which are the results of the character splitting,putting the discussion into a detailed way. At last,in comparison with other configuration systems in the development history of Chinese characters,we analyze the characteristics in the configuration system of the ZhongShan State's characters.After the deep investigation about all the unearthed ZhongShan State's characters, we discover that the characters of ZhongShan State,is already has quite strict systematic characteristics,but not completely mature.As one part of the Warring States' characters, the characters of ZhongShan State are inalienable part of the Chinese characters' history.There are five chapters in this thesis.The chapter one is a summary,it expounds the foothold of the thesis,which are the sub-country systematic investigation and the synchronic study.While explaining the significances of the configuration system of ZhongShan State's characters,the chapter one has also made the methods and the procedures of our work clear.For the last part of chapter one,we summarize the present situation about the study of the ZhongShan State's characters as our beginning.In addition to giving descriptions about two important relationships between the separate characters of the ZhongShan State which called diverse ways of writing and diverse structures,the chapter two also make summarizations of its characteristics and classifying them into groups.The chapter three is analysis about the configuration elements of the characters of the ZhongShan State,which consists of Configuration Elements together with the Configuration Units and Components with there functions.The chapter four deals with the composition structures and its plies,and then describes the characteristics of the functional modes of the ZhongShan State's characters.In comparison with other configuration systems in the development history of Chinese characters,the chapter five summarizes the characteristics in the configuration system of the ZhongShan State's characters.According to investigation and study we have made above,we can surmise the historical position of the ZhongShan State's configuration system.After the text,there are two tables called Decoration Components Table and Character Pattern Table of the ZhongShan State's characters.
