The new realism novel was a widespread novel trend flourishing in Chinese contemporary literature in the mid 1980s to the early 90s.Its generant cause consisted of various respects in society and culture.At first,since the 1980s,the changes of the society have caused the changes of people's life style and sense of worth.People's passion to improve the substantial life was much more than that to rebuild the political ideals and values.Secondly,the new realism novel,which was the veer of the pioneer literature distilment writing,focused on the ordinary life and the power in the reality.Thirdly,the new realism novel absorbing the merits from others came into being and developed.And the authors' choices and critics' promotion also helped its rise.The new realism novel underwent hard rebirth.The early works of the representatives,such as Liu Zhenyun,Fang Fang,Chi Li,etc also consisted of the gentle emotions and poetic ingredients.Then they changed to scan the real world frostily,which mainly described the multitudes,cared about the Civvy Street and talked about the mundane troubles.They didn't purchase to mould the typical characters in the typical situations on purpose,but to reproduce the original life.The authors' purposes were not appeared directly any more.They purchased a kind of"zero writing"implicating themselves,and avoided to showing the subjective emotions in the description deliberately.Some of the features of the new realism novel also restricted its development.Addition to the claim for the freshness and changes,the creation of the new realism novel waned integrally gradually.The authors also polarized.But in fact,the influence hasn't disappeared.We can feel it in the substrate narration in the new century.As an important literature school,the new realism novel left its own steady footprints in the literature history.
