On Huiyuan's Thought Of Retribution Reincarnation

Huiyuan, as a generation monk of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, had put forward his own retribution reincarnation thought on the base of the combination of ancient Indian Buddhist retribution reincarnation thought and traditional Chinese retribution thought.Huiyuan divided all things in the secular world into two, one is the ruthless, and the other is the ruth. The ruthless are relentless and have no emotion , no intelligence , no atheism. Finally they will become nought.Man , as the ruth, because of ignorance of mental, has feelings and relentness. Man has the sense of moving, and will be moved by feelings. Man is enthusiastic, so makes his soul tired. Shen(神) is in the body and controls the body. From his own interests, he brings about thoughts, crazing, being rigid and other actions and consciousness to secular things. These good and evil actions, including all idea, will certainly bring about the retribution. Good deed will certainly deserve good retribution ,and evil deed will certainly do bad one. Man will get into six reincarnations of life and death, and suffer endless pains. In real life man's fate is determined by his deed which had done in his previous life, and his new deed will determine his next life, or next next, and so on. Before retribution, the influence of his deed will exist forever, and never vanish. So man will suffer the results which he has brought out and can not pass on the influence to others. If man wants to get out from the reincarnations, he must have no ignorance of mental, insist on the extinction of all ideas, without perseverance of the secular, and thus achieve his purpose of "Se(色) is kong (空), Kong is Se", enter the Realm of Nirvana.
