Imitation is a nature of human beings and the history of arts almost began with imitation.Studying from the special geographical condition and living environment,the paper concerns the relationship between copy and the creation of Chinese flower-and-bird painting in the light of the law of the development of visual arts and the trait in studying the Chinese fine arts from Song Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty.It probes into the techniques and theories from an academic perspective,trying to prove that imitation with one's own thinking is a efficient way from copy and combining with painting from nature to creation of the Chinese fine arts of flower-and-bird—including mountain-and-water,figure painting.
