The monks in the Ming Dynasty as a religious group,which have played an very important role to educate the public and rectify the general mood of society However,a long time,the academic circles exerts oneself regarding the research not too much,this article attempts to make the original research from three aspects,source and constitution of the monks,the monks and social upper formation as well as the monks and folk.This article is divided into four parts.The first part for the source and the constitution of the monks,from a large number of historical materials,we can find that the source of the monks in the Ming Dynasty is very extensive,but mainly from the social strata;and the composition of the monks is divided into three different angles,the official point,the top monks and the ordinary monks and the age structure and the sex proportion,which make us understand that the composition of the monks is multiplicity.The second part for the groups of the monks and the social upper formation,to discuss the management of the monks from the Ming Dynasty and the monks and the emperor,the bureaucrat and the court eunuch associated,finally the conclusion is that a series of measures taken by the Ming Dynasty and the groups and the social upper formation contact,all drive this groups to be secularization.The third part for the monks and the folk,the discussion of the ceremony activity by the monks in the folk,the intercourse and monks' social image,the relation between the gentry and the women,discovered the monks in the Ming Dynasty become more and more secularization,and the image tends to the low-grade goods.The last part is conclusion.Come to the conclusion through the research,the monks in the Ming Dynasty as a special social groups,which is very important to educate the public and rectify the general mood of society,but a series of measures taken by the Ming Dynasty and drawback of Buddhism make it become secularization.In this article,first time regard the monks as a group to research,and try to do some important to study the religious history of the Ming Dynasty and obtain certain academic value.
