This thesis constructs a theoretical framework of questioning in college English class based on dialogue and describes its practical operation including its teaching performances and teaching effects through class observations, interviews and questionnaire analysis. Firstly, a comprehensive review is made about the current state and problems of questioning in college English class and related dialogue theories. Secondly, the study of integrating dialogue into college English class questioning discusses the new characteristics of questioning as a common teaching method. Third, both qualitative and quantitative studies are employed in this study; the college English class questioning based on dialogue and in a traditional way is presented in a contrastive way and analysis about the teaching effects is done through the data obtained from the questionnaire. Last, according to research results, related advice is given about the practice of questioning in college English class from the perspective of dialogue.
