Through the comparison of《the New Concept English》and《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》, I have set up the more perfect construction of the integration of listening, speaking, reading and writing.《the New Concept English》have been known all over the world for a long time. At first it faced all the students, whose native language isn't English. Now we only study the improved one, specialize for Chinese only. It places listening speaking reading and writing all the four aspects at the same weight. According the cognition discipline, the Chinese character, arrange the content reasonably, though still has some limitations it well embodies the logos of us. But English and Chinese are so much different, we couldn't completely on the basis of it to write our textbook. Therefore I chose《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》, which is an all in one Chinese textbook for foreigners. Through comparing, analysis of the two books, I will have some ideas of compiling ideal Chinese textbook.We have known both the books as their times representatives have received a very high evaluation. Their writers absorbed the new theories of language education of their own age. And they attempted to draw the new concepts to their works. But some advanced theories in《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》are only as concepts.This text is mainly from the logos, construct, text, design of exercise, to compare both the books. We can see《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》has some limitations in its system. But《the New Concept English》has a very precise system, so we can study from it. At the same time, in practicability, direction, and playfulness,《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》need to improve. It doesn't treat the four aspects balance. We can utilize the methods of《the New Concept English》,such as the exercise of the listening, the summary writing. And we also see《the New Practical Chinese Textbook》doesn't treat students as centre, so it can't develop initiative and motility and creativity of students very well.I think the future Chinese textbook for foreigners should arrange the sequence of listening speaking reading and writing according to their different mother languages. Pay attention to function and meaning of language, the factor of feelings, the using of appraisal system, to strengthen mete-cognitive experience, mete-cognitive monitoring. We also should concern how to choose the material, leads, and add more coupe articles.
