On The Materialized Narrative Tendency In City-writing Since The 90's Of The 20^th Century

City and matter have very close connection which is that city's development always represents matter's development in the first place.Since the 90's of the 20^th century,when writers were facing current Chinese city's existence situation,they engender thinking about the materialized reality,and they widely use materialized narrative way to visualize the writing of the society's reality,so it forms a new writing character which is different from the old one:materialized narrative tendency.This thesis will try to find the characteristics and the causes of materialized narrative tendency in city-writing since the 90's of the 20^th century from four different parts:The first part is Chapter One "introduction",which firstly make clears the concept of "city-writing" and "materialized narration",then expatiate on the relationship between "city-writing" and "materialized narration" since the 90's of the 20^th century.It shows that in the 90's of the 20^th century,because of the development of city-writing in the context of the real world,it is bound to be materialized narrative tendency.This part also makes clear of the city-writing's studying status quo since the 90's of the 20^th century,and at the same time,it shows these books' studying deficiency in the aspect of materialized narration and clarifies this thesis's value and significance.The second part includes Chapter Two and Chapter Three,which using Wang Anyi,Qiu Huadong and Zhang Xin's materialized narration toward Shanghai,Beijing and Guangzhou as examples,to unscramble the text in detail,and to analyze the commonalities and individualities of their materialized narration.On this basis,from point to side,this part studies the overall shape of city-writing since the 90's of the 20^th century,it also contact and contrast with the city-writing before the 90's of the 20^th century which starting from the relationship between person and substance,subject and object,at last,it summarized some new characters of the materialized narrative tendency in city-writing,which are extensive,the loss of subjectivity and the establishment of the homogeneous modern city.The third part is Chapter Four,which conclude and analyze the formation conditions of city-writing since the 90's of the 20^th century from two aspects which are affection of social reality and the writers' creative ideas.It points out that the formation conditions don't only include the formation of civil society,the process of urbanization and the material characteristic of city,the impact of the reality of authors, but also includes the relationship between a writer with the city,the background of the writers',the creative concept,the perspective and the reception of readers.The fourth part is the conclusion,which summarize the materialized narrative tendency in city-writing since the 90's of the 20^th century,and it also probe into the significance of this narrative way,to summarize the value of the materialized narrative tendency in city-writing.It proposes that the narrative way reflects the effort to communicate the reality of city life and the human spirit,and the effort to the return to spiritual home.
