Reconstruct The Rationality And Rescue The Life-world

J(u|¨)rgen Habermas is one of the most influential thinkers in the western academic world,as well as the major scholar of contemporary western Marxism.Rationality is his main focus as well as the starting point of his academic exploration.Based on the clue of rational reconstruction,this paper firstly examines that the critical theory of Marx Weber and the early Frankfurt School fall into difficult situation because they are confined to the subject-object antinomy of consciousness philosophy paradigm.To get out of the difficulties,it must renovate the philosophical paradigm to reconstruct the rationality.Based on the foundation of universal pragmatics,Communicative rationality shifts the focus on the subject to intersubject communication. Communicative Action Theory is the major component of Habermas' theoretical system.Three valid demand of Communicative Action is the decisive presupposition in the reconstruction of communicative rationality. The construction of communicative rationality can make up for the division & the loss of traditional rationality,can resist the expansion of instrumental rationality,and can prevent the deluge of consciousness philosophy.Social sphere is Harbermas' theoretical orientation.The aim of the construction of communicative rationality is to achieve the rationality of society.It analyzes the developing process of western social rationality and the structure of modern society from the perspective of the dual level structure of system-life world.Its general judgment based on the pathology analysis of modern western society is that system intrudes and dominates the life world in late capital society and finally brings about the colonization of life world.The plan for preventing the colonization of life world is to resume the balance between communicative rationality and purpose rationality,and to restore a balanced organism between system and life world in social sphere.Modernity is an unfinished cause,and the construction of communicative rationality can provide a possible solution for the plight of modernityFinally,this paper examines the validity of construction of rationality. Although Habermas' solution has flaws and phantasy,the sage's thought is like the burning torch which can show the way out of darkness for us in modern complicated and changing society.
