We all know that Forster is ranked as a wirter who enjoys great reputation in literary circle.The best known and most widely read of Forster' s novels,A Passage to India was the literary culmination of two sustained visits made by Forster to India in the early 1900s, it is also Forster' s most complex novel. Many critics have paid more attention to the theme of Liberal-Humanism connection (connection is Froster' s lifelong pursuit and dream), however it not only has theme of Liberal-Humanism connection, but also the theme of colonialism.This paper tries to use post-colonia theory to analyze the cultural imperialism in this novel. As a white middle class writer of the early twentieth Century, he cannot avoid being affected by the deep-rooted thought of Colonialism and Europcentrism Orientalist idea , Imperialism can be seen in his depiction of India and the Indian people.The paper give evidence that these subconscions idea partially set up a barrier for the communication between the West and the East and make his "passage to India" failure.
