Peng xuefeng(1907-1944) is the proletarian revolutionary, statesman, military strategist and general excellence of the New Fourth Army. His short and glorious life is unlimited wealth for us. Mao Zedong and other leaders praised him that he made great contribution to the motherland and the area of changhuai, and he was a good example of the communists. In the military and the united front work, he has made great achievements for the cause of the Chinese revolution and the construction.Combining method of theoretical research with empirical research, this article started from formation and development of his thought. I have studied systematically the main contents of his thought of united front based on the background of growth, origin, family education, displaying the united front thought in his youth and the history background of the times. Connecting with the concrete practice of Peng's united front thought , this article extracted its essence and characteristics of Peng's united front thought. We will have the more comprehensive understanding about Peng. Through the analysis of the historical status of Peng's united front thought.First part provideed an overview and development process of Peng's united front thought, including practical sources. Peng was affected by the traditional Chinese culture when he was a child. He encouraged the masses to unite to fight with bandits and protect the interests of the villagers. When he was in his youth, Peng absorbed advanced proletarian cultural Marxist ideology, and he became the leader of the student movement. In The Agrarian Revolutionary War period, Peng was famous with the united front struggle practice about crushing the mutiny of Guo Bing-sheng division commander.The practice of revolutionary struggle had a great impact on the formation of the united front thougt.The second part expounded the main contents of his thought . In The Anti-Japanese War period, Peng put forward that the whole nation united to resist the War for a comprehensive victory. In his article, he systematically explained if we wanted to have a turn for the better for the current situation, we must uphold the war of resistance, solidarity and progress to complete the united front eight tasks; the party leadership in the anti-Japanese national united front.In the united front,we should have a correct understanding of the two sides of the bourgeoisie,and insist on the military attack and political offensive to the surrenderor, anti-communist faction ; People is the base of the united front.The third part introduced the strategy, methods and main content of the practice of the united front. Peng regarded the united front work as an art, and made conclusion of the united front work experience in the united front practice, putting forward the united front strategy and methods.the main areas of the practice of United front included: in The Anti-Japanese War, Peng insisted on cultural movement to promote the culture of the united front , strive for the local strength and unity the middle forces and correctly handle the relationship with the local arms and struggle against the stubborn forces.In last part, this article analysed the characteristics and historical status of the main thought and practice. The characteristics included combination of United front and military thought , unity of strategy and tactics ,unity of principle and flexibility.We should be fully affirmed Peng's united front thought, strategy and abilities in the process of the anti-Japanese war. Peng is one of the well-known theorists and Practitioners on united front field in the Communist Party of China. His thoght of the united front played an important role in The Anti-Japanese War.
