The Smog Of History

Because of the ideological similarity,the impact of cultural policies and the close cultural exchanges,the contemporary Chinese literature has made deep relations with the Soviet Union literature since it was born.Military literature is no exception.However,we can find out so many differences when we read the military literature of these two countries from in 1990s.The exact differences and the reasons are discussed by comparing Liang Jian with General and his troops in this article.The main part of this thesis will be carried out in four respects:Firstly,the ways of constructing the history are "containment" and "subversion";Secondly,in the expansion of the heroes' images,the former one creates the "general" hero by paying more emphasis on his languages and actions while the latter one gives more focuses on the changes of his mind to build a "thinking" hero;Thirdly,the text styles of the two masterpieces are quite different.They show respectively the characteristics of carnival,unassuming and quiet,suppression.Finally,the arts of war are also different.The former focuses on the conflict between the enemies and ourselves that demonstrates the aesthetic characteristics of the noble while the latter focuses on the conflict in oneself that shows aesthetic characteristics of the tragedy.In the last section of the thesis,we analyze the reason of the differences in these two texts.The author thinks that the root causes are as follows:the identity and position of the writers are different,the ways and results of social transformation are also different as well as the different ways of literary traditions.
