A Study On Chinese Prepositions "gei", "gen", "dui", "xiang", "wei" And Teaching Of Them

The teaching of prepositions is not only an important part of the teaching of functional words, but also a difficult part in TCSL. This thesis analyses and describes several commonly used prepositions"gei","gen","dui","xiang","wei"one by one from the angles of Syntax and Semantics. On the analysis, this thesis makes a contrast study between these prepositions and tries to explain them in the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics. Foreign students made a lot of errors in the process of studying and using these Chinese prepositions for the semantic features and usages of these five prepositions are rather complicated. This thesis tries to provide some useful strategies for teaching and studying Chinese as a second language.This 1st part introduces the scope, the aim, the importance of this study and the fruits of previous researches on the prepositions concerned.This 2nd part analyses and describes"gei","gen","dui","xiang","wei"from the angles of Syntax and Semantics.This 3rd part makes a contrast study between these prepositions and tries to explain them in the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics.This 4th part provides some suggestions from the angle of TCSL.The conclusion summarizes the whole thesis and points out the shortcomings of this thesis.
