Japanese film shows its unique charm after World Warâ…¡. Someone says the form more close to the real life is more easily destroyed by the reality. But Japanese film reveals a fact that more close to ordinary life and more nationality presenting, the art is more able to develop. In their works, Japanese film masters demonstrate their awareness to give audience a strong audio-visual feeling and to"take care of"their traditional culture. No matter from description structure or from image processing, Japanese film shows a brilliant achievement.In 1980s, Japanese film began to decline as a result of the invasion of Hollywood movies and the rise of television media. At the end of 20th century, Shohei Imamura with his"Unagi"won the Palme d'Or Award in Cannes, which created a great sensation in Japanese film industry. Japanese film began to revive. Shohei Imamura is one of the most influential directors in Japanese film industry. Few directors in Japanese film history could always adhere to their views and opinions in whole life creation. Not only in text presentation, but more in image processing, Shohei Imamura's unique style in early creation laid the foundation of his consecutive brilliancy. From early exploration of chaos to the final glory, his original presents everywhere: to pay close attention to the bottom line in surviving. This"awareness of concern"usually brings a strong and brand-new visual experience. He often uses some scenes unexpected and with strong artistic appeal to analyze the value of the life and the meaning of the survival, which not only laid the everlasting monument for his artistic style, but also made an indelible contribution to the development of Japanese film.This article makes a comprehensive analysis of Shohei Imamura's films from the following aspects: Chapter 1 introduces Director Shohei Imamura's growth and creative track with time clues; Chapter 2 studies the play style and features based on Shohei Imamura's influential works, analyzes and interprets his videos, explores the creative theme in combination with Japanese culture and post-war development of Japanese film, and extends on this basis; Chapter 3 studies the play style and features further, by summarizing the characteristics of Shohei Imamura's play structure and by analyzing his film language,Style of play on its own innovation - "Breakout-style" narrative structure, and conduct in-depth analysis; Chapter 4 sums up his cultural aesthetic value by analyzing person characteristics in Shohei Imamura's works; Conclusion expresses the author's original thoughts and ideas. This thesis not only makes an analysis in the formation of ideas for a director and in aesthetic characteristics, but also considers the unique style of every director by specifying practical significance in each film. The author wants to make a full range of interpretation of Director Shohei Imamura to help others better understand in the future.
