The Rhetoric And Cognitive Study On Modern Chinese Abbreviation

With the rapid development of politics, economics, culture, and scientific technology,the overall trend of modern Chinese disyllablization the distinctive abbreviation and the diversity word formation promoted the development of modern Chinese abbreviations. It is an important method to constitute a new word in modern Chinese lexicon system. The study on abbreviation is a valuable project in modern Chinese lexicon research. However, up to now the study on abbreviation are still not deep enough.Based on the researches about abbreviation, the present study combined the researches by the experts and took the new present achievement as reference and made a more systemic analysis on the phenomenon of"abbreviation". The thesis includes five parts:Chapterâ… is an introduction. It is mainly focuses on the literature review about abbreviation and the problems existing in previous researches. In addition, it also includes the theoretical basis, the aim and significance of present study.Chapterâ…¡is a brief description of modern Chinese abbreviation. It mainly focused on the definition, the generative mechanism, the method for construction, and the standardization of abbreviation.Chapterâ…¢is the rhetoric research on Chinese abbreviation. It discussed the rhetoric characteristics of abbreviation from the basic rhetoric function and additional rhetoric function.Chapterâ…£is about the cognitive basis for abbreviation. In other words, it is about the Iconicit theory of the language signal reflected by abbreviation.Chapterâ…¤is about the positive and negative affection by cognitive situation and rhetoric psychology.
