Bible is the Canon of Christianity. Theology should be built in according with Scripture. From generation to generation, theologians built their system on the basis of Bible and their understanding of the Scripture. It is nature that the aim of hermeneutics is for the proclamation of Church. However, as the raising of the historical criticism in Biblical exegesis, Dogmatic is more or less challenged by historical criticism. Because the exegesis given by historical criticism contract with some traditional doctrines. Biblical theology is a discipline that tries to bridge the gap between modem Biblical studies and systematical theology. But this aim of Biblical theology becomes a problem for its self definition and development. How can the problem of Biblical theology be solved? In order to answer this question, this thesis will be divided into three parts: The first parts of the thesis will illustrate three major problems Biblical theology faced nowadays: the unity of the Old and New Testament; the diversity of the Old and New Testament unfolded by historical criticism; the problem of exegesis and hermeneutics. This part also will comment on the methods of the representative Biblical scholars in the field of Biblical theology and the shortage of their methods. The second part of the thesis will introduce Russian Literary critic Bakhin's dialogic truth and polyphony theory and argue Bakhin's theory will bring Biblical theology a new mode which will help to solve the puzzle of Biblical Theology. The third part will discuss briefly the problem of Biblical theology in Chinese Context. This is not just a problem of western theology, however also a serious but marginalized problem in Sino-Christian theology.
