Among the performing arts, the vocal is one of the oldest and most popular one. It is also a performance which has the most direct ideological link with the performers, resulting in spiritual sympathy and sharing of the artistic effect. When vocal artists gives performance on stage, it can not be neglected that the vocal artists not only need to sing but also need the stage performance to demonstrate art physically and spiritually in their artistic exhibition. Eyes, in particular, are very important tools for performers to express the content of songs on the stage. As a result, it is often said that"the whole performance lies in one's expression while the key of expression lies in one's eyes", which is also used to evaluate the level of performers. It is the fact that eyes more than any other organs on human body can show the true feeling and real disposition of a person. It is only when the vocal artists effectively use their eyes on stage that they can achieve the goal of"expressing by eyes and feeling by expression". However, the real beautifulness of singing and its true value lie in the following: the correct use of vocal skill to express the content of the songs effectively; the use of voice and expression to exert influence on the audience. A pair of eyes, for a performer, is crucial in that they serve not only as a tool to show the performer's expression and feeling but also as a key to meet the requirement of the song. As to the whole vocal performance, the proper use of eyes by the performer plays a critical role in the success of the performance. This article puts emphasis on the use of eyes in the vocal performance and presents the illustration in the following three aspects: Part I deals with the performance; Part II mainly centers around the singing skills; Part III deals with how to use the eyes to express the feelings.
