According to this standard, first phase is from the early beginning of the twentieth century to 1950s, and second phase from1950s to 1980s, and third phase from 1980s to the present. Of course there are some problems in imagery oil painting such as the degree to mediate and compromise, and difference in painting talent between the East and the West. Compared with concrete images and abstratractionism painting, imagery oil painting though is not the mainstream of the oil painting, it is doomed to enjoy a bright future due to its unique style.
