Studies Of Good Government Ethics Thought In Wangfu's "Qianfulun"

Wang Fu was a notable statesman and ideologist in the second half of the East-Han Dynasty, and also the excellent representative of the social critical thoughts trend of that period. His masterpiece named"Qianfulun", or"A Treatise on the Latent Man"has been regarded as a classic political works in the ancient Chinese period. Wangfu's political critical thought was not only destructive, but also constructive. Its constructive aspects were: containing rich good government Ethics connotations in its political thoughts by inheriting the"good"from senior Confucianism; reflecting new theory essence of practicable political trend with assimilated thought from legalism, Taoism, analyst, etc .Based on the new perspective of the good government ethics, this article attempts to review and analyze Wangfu's political ideas.Firstly, the triple legitimacy of politics order was ideological fundament of Wang fu's good government ethics.To begin with , this article proves the origin legitimacy of the good government from the perspective of harmony between the man and nature mingled"Tiandao"doctrine of"reward good and punish evil"with humanity named"doing", what's more, explores it more deeply from the humanity origin of"harmony leads to humanity, educating bring forth moral"; Again ,analyzes social legitimacy of the good government, focused on the theme of the people-based view that"people is the heart of the Tian ; Lastly, to trace tradition legitimacy of the good government in the light of the history of"following the example of ancient kings", all the three combined together to highlight the ultimate basis of Wang Fu's good ethics ideology.Secondly, the main connotation of Wang Fu's good ethics was demonstrated in the following four aspects.First of all, about valuable"good"——the core value concept of good government, Wang Fu established the philosophy marked as"good"and"harmony"with the basic approaches of putting essence first and non-essence second.What's more, the institution"good"embodies"obtain good via moral"and "obtain good via law"——two"good"government strategies with different impact scopes and governance functions, the first mainly analyzes how to realize institution ethics via economic institution ethics, education institution ethics and selecting talented person institution ethics, the latter emphasizes the analysis of how to highlight the ethic institutionalization, aimed at achieving the"good"of institution and"good"institution respectively, and ultimately reach the common goal of good government.Finally, about personal"good"——act subjects ethics of good government, the article finds out the original moral characteristics and ethic demands on four act subjects of"good"government——enlightened emperor, honest officials, and good generals and moral people.Thirdly, the enlightenment of Wang Fu's good government ethics ideology on building modern administration in harmonious society includes that on analyzing legitimacy fundament, establishing core valuable concept, constructing institutional ethic security, and improving act subjects characters in modern good administration.
