The Study On Semantic Construction Of Chinese Xiehouyu From Mental Spaces Integration Theory

This thesis applies mental spaces integration theory in Cognitive Science of Metaphor to analyzing the semantic construction process of Chinese Xiehouyu from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. According to different semantic expressions of Chinese Xiehouyu ,we divide them into six semantic types that is, "Direct analogy style in the context" and " Direct analogy style in the zero-context ", "Analogy pun homophone style in the context "," Analogy pun homophone style in the zero context, "" Analogy pun meaning style in the context"," Analogy pun meaning style in the zero context "and so on. Analyzing and summarizing semantic construction models of these six types Chinese Xiehouyu. On this basis, for the problem of "input space" amount in the theory of mental spaces integration, the problem of "semantic integration" process , the problem of distribution in"mental spaces", we propose some amendments that the "input space" can be divided into "dominant" and "hidden" types, there are more than two "input space" sometimes ,in the specific context, the "input space 1" and "input space 2" are "dominant", in the "zero-context", the "input space 1" is "dominant" and "input space 2" is "hidden" ,and the "hidden input space" is more than one, nor is it fixed, but changes with the different context; conceptual blending exists not only between the "input space 1" (source domain) and the "input space 2" (target domain), but also throughout the whole process of semantic construction, and conducts multi-angled,dynamic ; mental spaces integration is not curing among simple concepts, and more exists in the entire phrase, the entire chapters.
