In recent years, an increasing number of scholars have been engaging in applying conceptual integration theory to translation with the ever-accelerated development of this theory. Translation has been unanimously held as a kind of dynamic conceptual integration by scholars and corresponding translation network models have been proposed. Enlightened by previous study achievements, this thesis under the guidance of conceptual integration theory aims to expose conceptual integration in Chinese XHY translation by analyzing typical translated examples of Chinese XHY. The thesis initially introduces Chinese XHY and its present study situations to further point out the feasibility to cognitively study Chinese XHY translation. Secondly, the author makes a comprehensive introduction to main concepts of conceptual integration theory and its relevant studies. And then, proceeding from Chinese XHY translation and following the principle "from the simplest to the most complex", the author puts forward a revised network model for Chinese XHY translation in light of previous cognitive translation models:the source XHY language and the translator’s knowledge structure are two inputs, people’s generic ways of thinking the generic space and its corresponding expression to the source expression as the emergent structure in the blend and the translator plays a crucial role as an agent. Furthermore, the thesis makes an analysis of conceptual integration networks in Chinese XHY translation. It is pointed out that single-frame network is non-existent for the fact that the translator, as a go-between of the source expression and the translation, should be equipped with some corresponding knowledge about Chinese XHY and English expressions. The translator’s knowledge structure space has at least one frame network which is concerned with either the Chinese XHY expression or its matching English expressions or both of them. Accordingly, the single-frame network should not exist in Chinese XHY translation.
