The Research On Characteristics And Values Of Hypertext Literature

Papers become the carrier of language brought about the biggest revolution in literary history. Literature has entered a "no-paper writing" and "paperless dissemination" era through telecommunication technology, such as network and multimedia technology. Visual style has become more and more important in literature, thus hypertext literature is the most powerful witness of the "visual art".The first chapter focuses on the meaning of hypertext and hypertext literature, the origin and development of Hypertext and hypertext literature. From the embryonic form to the more developed hypertext technology at present, hypertext and literary "links" more closely; from the initial literary idea to the final realization, it "links" more coordinated.The second chapter is the most important section of this article; it mainly analyzes the three major factors of hypertext literature: intertextuality, complexity and technicality. As a living and open literary text, hypertext literature provides multiple information by serials of paths. The literary border has eliminated, while each literary texts open to all the other literary texts, thus the text and the other one co-become a text. Hypertext literature is a collection of divergence with ever-changing contents, complex text structures and far-reaching meanings. Hypertext literature emerges as a new literature which makes full usage of a variety of science and technology; its emergence and development brings a new interpretation of the combination of art and science and technology.The third chapter discusses the value and limitations of hypertext literature. Hypertext literature has made an immense impact on the essential proposition and idea which dominate in literary theory and literary criticism for several thousand years. Therefore, a new type of literature concept has established, a new era's w-readers have showed and the meaning space of text has been infinitely extended. However, the blind links between texts lead to meaningless, paper-based publishing is not suitable for E-books, technical limitations make it difficult to spread, all these limitations have made it hesitant.
