English weariness is the objective psychological reflection that students become tired of learning English. English is one of the most tiring courses for the vocational school students. The English weariness becomes more and more serious because of their poor English and their interest in English and has awfully prevented the development of their vocational education. My study is conducted by the questionnaire to the students in Yueqing vocational school in the aspect of English weariness. It analyses and explores the key causes and features of English weariness in order to ease the weariness of students and provide a factual basis for the reform of teaching and practical significance of Wenzhou's vocational education.Firstly I have a simple discussion of the definition of weariness, then have an overview of the English weary features and causes of Secondary Vocational School Students which are worked out from my daily observation, several discussions and interviews with some students. This paper introduces the domestic research results related to the weariness, in particular, the related research of the features and causes of English weariness during the resent decade. My purpose is to conduct the research to obtain evidence of the above overview.A survey, whose questionnaire is designed by the author, about English weary characteristics and causes of Vocational School Students has been done among 427 students from 5 majors in Grade 2007 and Grade 2008. Then the data is classified and analyzed in statistic software SPSS 15.0. The present situation of the English weariness is not optimistic. Their English weary characteristics are as follows: First, it shows a varying degree of generalized trends. Second, there does not exist distinguish English weariness in different grades but in different sexes. Third, Male students are more striking than female students in English weariness. Fourth, the weary index of the students in International Trade, Accounting and Kindergarten Teaching is obvious lower than that of the students in NC and Computer Science. Fifth, it shows that the longer the duration that the students did not understand their English teacher well was, the more serious the degree of weariness the students are in. The result of the survey of English weary causes is the following: First, in the social aspect, including social bias, social negative influence, the pressures of employment, etc. Second, in the school aspect, including teaching lack of the students'internal needs, the unreasonable textbook set,the students'replaced autonomous study motivation and the English teacher's blind responsibility. Third, in the family aspect, having a laissez-faire family atmosphere, the unpleasant family learning environment, never concerned about English learning by parents,the parents'inappropriate teaching methods, etc. Fourth, in the aspect of the students themselves, mainly about their own defective personality and attitude: They are in poor attention, poor willpower, and poor self-confidence and have a lazy apathetic stress-free learning psychology. In addition to these major causes, English weariness of the Secondary Vocational School Students is also significantly related to mothers'educational level.Finally, according to the latest theoretical results on weariness and learning disability, the paper has a detailed analysis and discussion on the features and causes of English weariness and proposes a number of measures for reference.
