Beyond The Screen

Throughout the whole process of studios period of Hollywood, if we want to explain the operating mechanism behind Hollywood more clearly and exactly, we have to highlight the important status of the "Wall Street". This thesis puts Hollywood film into the system of "Wall Street". No doubt this will be an attempt to interdisciplinary research.Firstly, as a financial institution, the "Wall Street" is not only the boss of Hollywood, but also the organizer who promotes the merger of Hollywood. Secondly, as a financial market, the "Wall Street" not only provides immense platforms of Hollywood film financing, but also avoids movie risks from the financial market. This paper mainly illustrates the relationship between Hollywood and the "Wall Street" based on Hollywood film financing, film production and film industry in the studios period. These three parts seem independent. However, in essence they are complementary to each other. Together they outline the whole process of Hollywood film production, film distribution and risks avoiding.This "one multi-faceted" role of the "Wall Street" determines the interdisciplinary nature of the paper. Therefore, under the framework of economics this thesis combed the source of the Hollywood film by drawing on economic theories of industrial economics, macroeconomics, finance, financial marketing, media economics, microeconomics and so on and combining the relationship of Hollywood and Wall Street.
