Research On The Bronzen Weapons Discovered Of The Eastern Zhou Dynasty In Hunan

On the basis of the round collection of the discovered weapons of Eastern Zhou Dynasty in Hunan province, the type of the key weapons are ordered systematically. In the passage, the discovered weapons of Eastern Zhou Dynasty are found evolve orderly, the weapons can be divided into three stages according to the characteristics of the evolution; in addition, the author also find that there are distinctive characteristics of the geographical distribution of the bronzen weapons. On this basis, relating literature materials, the author make out that there have been four national groups in Hunan province during Eastern Zhou Dynasty, they are Yue, Pu, Chu and Ba. Further, the author investigate the development by Chu, trying to reveal the whole process of Chu's stepping into Hunan.There are five chapters in this passage:Chapterl:Introduction.It includes the academic significance, history and present situation of the task, and the basic research methods of the passage. For now, most of the scholars study on the bronzen weapons with inscription or beautiful decorations mainly, ignoring the general bronze, only few types of the weapons have been studied, the studies of the typological analysis are not proper enough, etc.Chaper2:The discovery of the bronze weapons and the analysis of the typical sites. The author review the process of the discovery of the bronzen weapons of Eastern Zhou Dynasty in Hunan province and divide it into two stages:the first stage is from 1949 to 1976, the second is from 1977 until recently. Five typical tomb sites are selected to be analyze, the typical tombs refer to the ones which contain many bronzen weapons in different types and other burial objects, and have more obvious characteristics of the times. It is good for the division of the weapon types and the accuracy of the stage-division. While selecting the tomb sites,the author pay attention to the characteristic of the geographical distribution which are good for the further analyze. Chapter3:The typological analysis. The discovered bronzen weapons in Hunan including the bronzen swords, the bronzen dagger-axes, the bronzen spears, the bronzen arrowheads, the bronzen halberds, the bronzen pikes, the bronzen Pis, and the bronzen crossbows are typologically analyzed, each of the weapons is simply described for its evolution trend.Chapter4:The stages, the features of the Regional distribution and the related issues. On the basis of the previous analysis, the discovered bronzen weapons in Hunan of Eastern Zhou Dynasty can be divided into three stages:the first is from the Early to the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period, the second is from the late of the Spring and Autumn Period to the early warring states, the third is during the late Warring States. The temporal and spatial distribution of the bronzen weapons in Hunan of Eastern Zhou Dynasty is analized, and the national distribution during Eastern Zhou Dynasty in Hunan can be explained, and the development process of Hunan can be Investigated.Chapter5:Conclusion.
