At long-term artistic practice, the Lao Diao evolved the opera style of simple and rough, and its contents are mainly about descriptions of the imperial will, the hero of the bush legend, with a typical northern China national characteristics.The Lao Diao of Baoding has its unique characteristics in the style of singing, style changes, accompanying band, singing ways, and performing form, etc. The author of this drama visited the Baoding Lao Diao troupe -- the only city-level professional troupe of Lao Diao and made a detailed analysis about the theater composition, operation and economic conditions of his staff, also revealed the role of the Lao Diao at the local people's lives and its'existing problems and put forward the countermeasures which can implement the inheritance and development of Baoding Lao Diao, that is, set up a sound mechanism for the protection of heritage and take the commercialization path of development, occupy the performing market of the rural areas, and finally realize Lao Diao's heritage and development through the use of modern media equipment.
