The Analysis Of Context Based On Discourse

The development of context and discourse analysis theory has extensive impact on the foreign language teaching methodologies. Based on the knowledge of discourse analysis and context, this thesis elaborates on the application and the practice of that. Language is the tool for human being's communication, as we all know, by which human beings can share with their point of view. In this way human beings integrate themselves into a human group, a member of human society. Discourse analysis focuses on describing the top-level organization and features of discourses and help people to comprehend discourse holistically at multi-levels and apply discourse knowledge. The linguistics of discourse focuses on the use of language; studies how people use real language rather than artificial sentences. In language teaching, teacher's first consideration is how people use language actually, so the writer analyzed context in certain discourse. Analyzing the restriction to discourse can help students understand the most effective language is the language used in proper context. This can enhance their ability of using language.This thesis is divided into six chapters. The First Chapter introduced what discourse is, context and discourse analysis. Chapter Two discussed the theoretical foundations of discourse analysis in discourse-based context analysis. Chapter Three expounded the study of context. Chapter Four probed the valuable method to judge the context in discourse. Chapter Five studied the application and analysis of context in discourse. Chapter Six is conclusion.
