Baby Anne's writing is often considered as a popular literature which goes along with the taste of the people in the consumer context. Her fame is not only relate to the communicate ways of her writing but also her gender identity.However, reading carefully, we can see the author's thought about the urban life in her literature. In this sense, Baby Anne's writing not only focus on the urban desire but search life meaning and thus owning spiritual values.In her writing, people struggle with the urban materialism and sexual passion, but they are also longing for independence and self-awareness and the spirit of soul. Her writing show us the spirit space based on the urban life by wandering and regard it as the ultimate meaning and value of life. From her writing,we can see a modern woman who is within and outside the urban life has the subtle experience and profound philosophical thinking.This article is divided into four parts:The introduction briefly displayes her literature activities and the current research about her novel, trying to find the right entrance to her text by sifting the existing research.And then we decide to analyze her literature again by the closing reading.Chapter one discusses the background of urban life and the materialistic consumption tendencies. Besides, we analyze the modern love mode which cannot be received forever.Eventually we define the meaning of this writing as the feeling of loneliness from the material experience.Chapter two mainly explains Baby Anne and her literary ethos. It reveals Baby Anne's life experience and rational thinking on the authentic beauty in urban life, the pursuit of the ultimate meaning under the materialism and the interior feeling in her wandering.The conclusion briefly summarizes the significance of Baby Anne's literature which is beyond the popular culture.It is hoped that we can re-recognize the overall value of her writing.
