The Exploration Of Cao Yu's Changes In Play Writing

Cao Yu's plays are monumental works which boast the coming of the truly mature age of drama in China. The study of Cao's work has been all the time a gigantic topic escapi ng no ignorance. His late works assume a great drop from earlier ones so that a difference of prosperity of discussion and the lack of commentary of his late works occurs. The first is that of themes:his earlier plays involves with the concern of man's predicament while during the late years such themes have disappeared into conceptualization and politicalization. The second is his change of aesthetic view of drama which discriminates in inner exploration of the inside world of characters other than the outs ide phenomena. This characteristic style fades gradually in his late plays. The third is his ch ange and loss of his poetic beauty during the late years of writing.Coming up next is my interpretation of the causes of these losses and changes. Cao ha s focused on the primitive power and humanity while during his late years he has gone astr ay. For instance, the severe circumstance of politics that has brought about bondage to his writing; the withering power of his theoretical understanding and application, are both signifi cant to his decaying in his late years.
