As Chinese earliest literature, ZhouYi, ShangShu, ShiJing, ZuoZhuan, ZhuangZi, LunYu,MengZi,GongYangZhuan, GuLiangZhuan, ChuCi, LiJi, ZhouLi, YiLi, XiaoJing, and others have very important historical value. The Grand Chinese Dictionary is one of China largest historic Chinese language dictionaries. This Paper, based on the study of the duplicated words of the 14 classics, did the exhaustive test-check of the duplicated words, and discovered that there are some problems in the 14 classics entries, documents and so on, which are included by The Grand Chinese Dictionary.The thesis consists of 4 parts:Part1:In this part, it gives a brief introduction about the background, the definition of the duplicated words, the current situation of research, the method of research, the significance of the thesis and the basic frame.Part 2:In this part, we classified the duplicated words of the 14 classics which are included by The Grand Chinese Dictionary. There are four classifications:the words which are exactly right; the words which have problems in definitions; the words which have problems in documents;Part 3:In this part, we studied the duplicated words of the 14 classics which are not included by The Grand Chinese Dictionary.Part 4:This part is conclusion. It is a conclusion of the shortage of The Grand Chinese Dictionary in including the duplicated words of the 14 classics. In it, study conclusions and some deficiency of this study work have been stated.But so far nobody have researched in The Grand Chinese Dictionary of citing the duplicated words.By studying the duplicated words of the 14 classics cited by The Grand Chinese Dictionary, we can find the insufficiencies in the The Grand Chinese Dictionary, so it's very important to the compilation and revision of Chinese dictionaries.
