| At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, a lot of renowned musicians and music genres arose in western countries, among which Igor Feodroovich Stravinsky(1882-1971) is the most influential and innovative one. In his entire lifetime, he completed over 100 works, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music, songs, piano sonatas, operas and ballets. He is good at applying all kinds of music forms, from polytheism to the ancient Greek myths, from European music in Seventeenth and Eighteenth century to Russian music, from medieval French music to modern American music, from Jazz to Mass, from symphony to circus Polka. His work reflects the features of the main western music genres from the first half of 20th century. As a representative figure of neo-classical style, Stravinsky has tremendous influence on many contemporary and later composers and strongly promoted the development of modern music.This paper is divided into five parts and is based on the analysis of Stravinsky's Violin Concerto in D. Introduction part contains the studying situation of Stravinsky from home and abroad and study direction and methods of this paper. The first Chapter introduces the life experience of Stravinsky, the characteristics of three stages in his music composition and the background and process in the composition of Violin Concerto in D. The second Chapter makes music ontology analysis of the theme, harmony, polyphony, rhythm and musical structure of Violin Concerto in D, try to discover the technical features and style of Stravinsky's work during neo-classical period. The third Chapter is divided into two sections to analyze the composing connotation of Violin Concerto in D, with the first section is about Stravinsky and Neoclassicism, the second section analyzing the composing characteristics in combination of Stravinsky's aesthetical thoughts. The last part is conclusions, which makes a summary valuation of the music features in neo-classical period with Stravinsky's Violin Concerto in D being the analyzing object and provide a historical position of this work. |
