Benjamin Britten (1913 - 1976) was a famous composer, conductor and pianist in the modern United Kingdom. This paper gives an analysis based on Britten's violin concerto op. 15, which is the best one of his early instrumental compositions. The purpose of this paper is trying to seek the composer's thoughts, such as how he did to form his early musical language and style, and how this violin concerto affected his later compositions, through the analysis of the composition technology and the historic environment of the violin concerto. The result of the analysis in this paper is concluded the violin concerto is a key composition of all of Britten's compositions, Britten's music is essential to the development of modern music in the United Kingdom, the concerto essentially influences creations of the Western contemporary violin concerto.
