Research On Chinese Medium Cost Films For The First Decade Of 21st Century

Film investment costs will directly affect the aesthetic style in film. Compared to the 'big cost films' which is 'form more effective than content' and the 'low cost films' which focus on individual expression, aesthetic performance style of the medium cost films are more abundant such as A World Without Thieves, The Sun Also Rises and Crazy Racer. Because the medium cost films including the commercial films of'initial type', films full of personality and artistic taste and many kinds of films hangs in the balance between these two types.For finding out the contemporary Chinese film's problems, we research the Chinese medium cost films of 21st century's first decade, including arranging historical development combining studying of film industry, film narrative analysis and audience surveys, etc. The study is exploring the development direction of Chinese film that has both academic and practical meaning. Finally, we hope to give some feasible views to the Chinese film's construction.
