Being located in Guangdong province, in the Northeast of Long Men town, there is a Lantian village which belongs to the Yao. It is not only the unique in Hui Zhou, even in the south of Guangdong province, but also the biggest national minority town. The Yao,being connected with Guangdong, has a long history. Besides inheritance and developing national culture characteristic, at the same time, Yao is affected by various national culture in degrees. Therefore, Yao gradually form its own national characteristics both in material and spirit, which reflected by clothes and ornaments, cooking culture, characters, festival etc. For instance, the dance which always hold by Yao in August fifteen's, is for fire dog who gives the love and care to people from childhood."Dance for fire dog" is not only one kind of peculiar and sacred ceremony, but also the puberty rite for young girls.Comparatively, it is rare in other national minority. In June,2006, "the dance for fire dog" became the first province-rated non-material cultural legacy. With the society's uninterrupted growth, contradiction between the Yao traditional culture and the modern culture becomes fiercely. In order to enhance the people's consciousness of cultural heritage protection, we should carry out the policy of putting prevention first in work and passing on Yao's traditional culture. That's my writing purpose.
