A Study Upon Yung Ying's Autobiography And Poetry

This thesis focuses on the first student and educational pioneer to graduate from a US university, Yung Wing's literary creation and the impact of his literature thoughts, then analyzes the background of Yung's literary creation and presents a literature review on the researches about him. Beginning with Yung Wing's autobiography and poetry, the writer of this thesis compares the similarities and differences between Yung's autobiography and the general style of Chinese autobiography, together with the comparison between his poetry and Tao Yuanming's pastoral poetry. The thesis explores the impact of Yung Wing Wing's literary creation and activities upon Lingnan Culture.lt also delves more into Yung Wing's literary creation and literature thoughts. In some sense the thesis patches up some blanks in the researches upon Yung Wing.
