| Literature is the art of language, in reverse the language is the carrier of literature. He Liwei is always an active practitioner for language innovation--from his inchoate poetized novels to gradually appeared novelettes as well as prose and comics afterwards we can experience his unremitting exploration of language style. His language of works has become the focus of public's attention for a long time, regardless of whatever type of literature he uses. Unique language is an important aesthetic magic weapon that improves ability to work.Linking He's specific works, this paper concentrates the research on the characteristics of rhetoric basing on the theories of Traditional Rhetoric and Variation Rhetoric in the perspective of rhetoric. The paper consists of five parts. Part one Introduction is mainly about the relationship between literature and language, as well as Liwei's Biography. Literature Review mainly collates and summarizes the current or finished researches on He Liwei and his works, and simply makes an evaluation and analysis. Part two principally studies He's usage of Stylistic Devices from the traditional standpoint of the rhetorical theory including Analogy, Parallelism, Analogy, Metonymy and Repetition, and gives a more detailed analysis of Metaphor Rhetoric frequently used in his works at the level of the structure, choice and rhetorical effect of Metaphor. Part three explores He's characteristics of rhetoric using the theory of "Defamiliarization" in the angle of Variation Rhetoric, analyzes the structure of predication, the structure of modification, unusual collocation in the figures of speech, as well as the variation usage of Classifier, studies the effects of rhetoric combined with densely local-style language on the basis of He's vast use of dialect words and oral sentences, and finally investigates the rhetorical language in the perspective of the relations between rhetoric and language style. In Part five, a conclusion is given that summarizes all the studies above.This paper attempts to let the language, especially the rhetoric, in He's works known more deeply and comprehensively, through the induction, analysis and study of He's language style at the rhetoric level. |
