Study On Language Variation Of Yu Hua's Works

Yu Hua is the representative of the Chinese contemporary pioneer writer and his works has been the focus of the literary circles as well as the criticis.The linguistic style applied in his novels is irregular and authentic,which makes his works innovative and unique and has also been criticized by some critics.The researcher explores language variation of his works from the perspective of linguistics and literature,and then further analyzes the influence of background on his linguistic style by intensive reading and inductive methods.In particular,the thesis emphasizes the language defamiliarization and illustrates them in detail.To be specific,the defamiliarization phenomenon is mainly presented from vocabulary and grammar.Moreover,the researcher also makes an analysis of the unique variation in his works.As mentioned above,the language style applied in his works is a kind of nonstandard or irregular form which is realized by defamiliarization and rhetoric devices.Specifically speaking,the defamiliarization in his works is characterized by ignorance of the grammatical rules,the random combination of words and renovation of new words,which makes the language much more alive.Besides,more rhetoric devices have been applied in his works,such as: figure of speech,assimilation,symbolism,irony,humor and repetition,which makes the language more vivid,aesthetically pleasing and rhythmic.As a result,the language style differs from the general espression and it presents the aesthetic feature in the works.The reality and human nature reflected in the works have been put into full play through the variation,which makes the seemingly strange language style more unique.
