Domestic sitcom has gone through nearly two decades. In 1992, Ying Da's "I Love My Family" introduced the new format to Chinese mainland, and this work has achieved great Television ratings. Since then, large quantities of domestic sitcom turned up quickly. But the subsequent sitcoms can't match the artistic achievements of "I love My Family". Then in 2005 and 2006, "My Own Swordsman"& "Home with Kids" attracted a large audience again, and both gained the 26th "Flying Goddess Award". More over, in the 27th "Flying Goddess Award" Ceremony last year, another two domestic sitcom-"Peace is Happiness"& "Medical Team's Story" gained the award of "Excellent Television Series". It seems that domestic sitcom's spring is coming.Although this program pattern was introduced from abroad, it did a good localization, which reflected in the following aspects:Non-governmental narration/borrow crosstalk and other traditional techniques/diversified production and distribution and so on.Throughout nearly two decades of domestic sitcom, the most successful works are undoubtedly "I Love My Family" and "My Own Swordsman". "I Love My Family" is the first domestic sitcom and it has made great success. "My Own Swordsman" is a post-modern style work, it breaks traditional routines of domestic sitcom, especially in the following aspects:narrative style, narrative form, narrative strategies and techniques, etc. Through analyzing and comparing all these aspects, this thesis tries to presenting the narrative evolution of domestic sitcom over the years.
