George Ye's poetry criticism, constituting a systematic poetics theory of symbolism, playing a very important part in the history of modern Chinese poetry criticism. His poetry, drawing the Western poetics theory of symbolism of later period, and from the 30's context of poetic reality of China, proposed a feasible proposition poetry. He discriminated the difference between old and new poetry to explain how to deal with traditional Chinese poetry and poets how to expand the awareness of historical consciousness and perception issues; from metrical and syllable with meaning constructed the form of poetry; and indicated that poetry can be the direction of the drama.Tracing George Ye's poetics theory to its source, on the one hand is the theory of resources from the West, mainly British and American post-modernist symbolism and poetics, especially the popular impact of Eliot and Richards; on the other hand, from their theoretical resources, mainly traditional literary theory and poetics. At the same time, he was familiar with the poetry of the writing practice. This makes his Poetics link literary theory and practice of criticism. Integration of Chinese and Western criticism of his poetry, starting from the actual text, to avoid the theory of empty and shallow.George Ye's poetry criticism is an important sense of literary history:the New Moon itself, he brought the characteristics of modern Chinese into the construction of poetic metrical, and put forward his own ideas Meters; he and Dai zong Liang's symbolic poetics complement each other, together form the poetic symbolism 30s picture; George Ye's poetry criticism at that time and the subsequent criticism and creative poetry had a profound impact.This text is divided into three parts:The first chapter discusses the specific content of poetry criticism of George Ye; second chapter, from both inside and outside differentiates and analyses the theory source of George Ye's poetry criticism; the third chapter, discusses the sense of literary history of George Ye's poetry criticism.
