Tao Yuanming's Aesthetics

Tao Yuanming,a very good pastoral poet in Chinese classical literature, was regarded as an elegant hermit.While people showed little interests to the man in his time.Xiao tong, the first person who showed his concern to him, also failed to attract people's more attention.It is the Tang Dynasty that people really showed their interests to Tao's poems.People liked Tao himself and his works mainly because of his high personality and good using of the words. Form them we may experience the existence of Beauty. In this paper, I'm trying to study Tao's Aesthetics in a comprehensive way and hoping to make my efforts in building an advanced research to Tao's Aesthetics.The first part introduces Tao's life and living times. His social and life aesthetics was largely influenced by this confused political and multi-cultural enviroment.The second part mainly discusses Tao's social Aesthetics. the social aesthetics of Tao is mainly reflected in the The Story of Peach Blossom Spring and poetry,focusing on the ideal society——Utopia's characteristics and the formation of this social ideal.The third part gives Tao's Aesthetics in life. We may know the important factors that format his life Aesthetics through the study of his thoughts and family background and find out the special qualities in his Aestheics from his rich experience. We also discuss the highest level he's reached in Aestheics——HE.The fourth part focuses on the thought of aesthetics in Tao's works. He mainly went in for the plain and natural aesthetic style in the poetry.In the fifth part, a totally different style is introduced which exists in Tao's pursit of Aesthetics..It is not a main element but a necessary one in forming the thoughts of his Aesthetics.The sixth part analysises the significance of Tao's Aesthetics in modern society. It would inspire us to discover the beauty in life, to appease people's stirring heart and to build a haromious and health personality.All in all, with the analysis of Tao's personality,we thoroughly understand his Aesthetic idea. And it would have big signifidence when we build a harmonious society, perfect our personality.
