Exploration On Mary Cassatt--A Female Impressionistic Painter

Mary Cassatt is an outstanding female artist in impressionists. Most of her work reflects bourgeois women and their family lives in the urban environment where she lives. In her paintings, there are tender and gentle mother, na?ve and lovely children, peaceful and hard-working women, mysterious and fashionable young lasses. All her pictures reveal peace and happiness, where reflects her consideration and attention to humanity.Based on the times and society Mary Cassatt experienced and her drawing theme and drawing language, this thesis emphatically analyzes the development and changes in her painting concept, theme and technique, illuminate the cause of formation on the cultural connotation and painting style in her works. To deep exploration, the author states his own understanding and thinking on Mary Cassatt's performance. By studying Cassatt's painting experiences, the author also discerns the cause formation of her painting sight on females, and the key role which her adherence and ardor plays her painting life.
