Origining from French New Wave movement, the author theory is valued of the concept of introspection and initiation about exploring individualism and publicizing personality. As a result a new situation on the development of world films is started; Centering on the"author",the theory makes sure that the personality of awareness, freedom, creativeness can be fully expressed. Driven by ideology and commercial profits of Chinese films, most directors don't do much well on maturing their conscious personality. The fifth-generation directors strongly influenced by the author theory such as Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige make their works be characteristic of the unstable"author representation".As a"author"Jiang Wen continues his personal style, focus on the position of director and runs through the constant theme.Therefore he insists on creativing personal films labelled by"author"elements with regard to the pure faith of films.The paper tries to objectively read Jiang Wen and deeply analyse his three films from the perspective of textual analysis and author critism. Also the paper consists of six parts unfolding its analysis through the way as below:To begin with,the"Introduction"part gives a belief view of the reason to choose such the topic and precent research.Chapter one consicely mainly illustrates the author theory and the communication and reception of the author theory which provides a theoritical prepararion for Jiang Wen and his films.Chapter two starting from the reality of Chinese films, the paper draws a conclusion of Jiang Wen's unique persoality similar to the"author"among a large amount of textual and video material.Chapter three to Chapter five is the body of this paper, which concentrates on the core of personal historism, the unconventional image factors and the explanation tension of surrealism style in order to probe the author tactics of the films by Jiang Wen.In conclusion, the director makes the demonstration of identity and the distinct habits of representation on an philosophy ascent to the Holy Fool temperament.This paper holds the viewpoint the emphsis of the author and his films from the perspective of the author theory can be not only centered on the concept,the style, the method of the films but also be beneficial to show the individualism and the beauty of films itself, which is an important dimension of measuring Chinese films.
