YuQian(1793-1841),Mongolian people Xianghuang Banner. One of the generals sacrificed their lives for their country during the Opium War. As Jiangsu provincial judge in 1834, YuQian began his political career in Jiangsu province. Due to his outstanding performance, he had been promoted to many important positions gradually. Successively, he had been in charge of Jiangsu Province's government affairs as the Jiangsu governor, the governor who controlled two provinces Jiangsu,Jiangxi and Anhui, and the imperial commissioner, until he was martyred. Although YuQian was not the top figure during that time,he had done many things that benefited the country which were worthy of our study.Based on the legacy scripts and the related records of YuQian, it had been studied in full possession of the basic information, which was referred to the existing academic achievements and reserached in the basic theory and methods of history. Connected the background on which Yu Qian lived, I'll do my best to make the study of Yu Qian's main activities in Jiangsu Province comprehensively and systematically, and will make an objective review and evaluation of his historical status.
